1. Place your new mattress on the appropriate support surface.

The use of the right base highlights the proper functioning of the mattress, prevents the damage that can be caused to its inserts, altering its behaviour and dramatically affecting the ideal sleeping conditions. For this reason, we recommend using GRECO STROM bases made of high quality materials. Alternatively, use a frame with anatomical boards in which the distance between them must in no case exceed the diameter of the springs of your mattress. (A distance of 2-3 cm is recommended). Otherwise, use the well-known boards, but make sure that they are straight, have a smooth surface, do not move and of course the distance between them should not exceed the diameter of the mattress springs. (A distance of 2-3 cm is recommended).

You should avoid placing the mattress directly on the floor or on a built-in base because this does not allow proper ventilation of the mattress and there is an immediate risk of creating a fungal colony inside the mattress, so it appears in the form of mould, which is not covered by the warranty.

 
2. Correct transfer of the mattress.

Each mattress must be transported properly without any hassle. It must not be folded to enter a lift or to pass through a narrow staircase or be strapped to a point of difficult access.

 
3. Always use a protective cover.

Even if we have the ideal mattress for us, it is important to protect it with special covers so that it can provide us with all its beneficial properties during sleep for a long time. GRECO STROM’s special protective mattress covers ensure the proper maintenance of the mattress’s hygienic conditions, while extending its lifespan. This is because, during sleep, our body sheds skin flakes, sweat and various bodily secretions, thus creating an environment conducive to the growth of microorganisms. So the best way to ensure a healthy, clean and safe sleep is to use the protective cover.

4. Proper mattress maintenance.

Turn and rotate your mattress regularly without ever bending it to avoid serious deformations (See the picture for how to rotate the mattress.) Ventilate your mattress by leaving it uncovered on the bed for a few hours at least once a month. Never iron on the mattress, because in addition to the surface deterioration that the fabric may suffer, there is a serious possibility that the steam from the iron will get inside the mattress causing mould. Always keep your mattress dry. Under no circumstances should you wet or wash your mattress. If an unfortunate incident occurs, immediately contact a specialist workshop that undertakes mattress cleaning, always without the use of steam. Do not allow children to bounce on the mattress. In addition to the risk to their physical integrity, this dangerous habit can cause serious damage to your mattress, most of the time without the possibility of repair.

5. The mattress is a personal matter!

Before you buy a mattress, go ahead and try it out. No one knows personal preferences better than you do! That’s why we always recommend choosing a mattress after testing it and even in different reclining positions. Always take into account your own needs and preferences and of course your own body type. If you find after purchase that your mattress does not cover you and does not serve you, as you understand, you cannot be covered by the warranty that comes with it to replace it.

 
6. Small tips for moments of peace and relaxation.

Once you have decided on the ideal type of GRECO STROM mattress for you, pay attention to the following points:

  • The mattress you have chosen will be made especially for you in the dimensions you indicate, which are your responsibility. (Deviation +/- 1cm due to the use of natural materials).
  • However, if after receiving your new mattress you find that you have made a measurement error, you should be aware that it cannot be replaced. However, please do not hesitate to contact the GRECO STROM after sales service department , aftersales@grecostrom.gr so that we can inform you whether we can correct the dimensions at the charge provided for in the price list of our company.
  • You should be aware that it will necessarily take a short period of time (about 1 month) for your body to adapt and get used to the new data that your new mattress will offer you and that will lead you to a new and exciting sleeping experience.
  • Because all your senses are activated when you lie down to enjoy all the benefits of GRECO STROM mattresses, don’t be alarmed by the smell of the new. You will simply need to leave your mattress uncovered for a few hours a day and the perfectly normal characteristic new smell will subside and disappear permanently after a few days.
  • Foam (quilting): all the materials used to cover the quilting treatment of GRECO STROM mattresses (hypoallergenic wadding, pure virgin wool, specially treated foam) have been selected to be able to adapt properly and support your body and especially its heaviest parts (shoulders, back, hips). We would therefore like to point out that a slight deflation on the surface of the quilting is not considered a deformation or unevenness and is generally not a defect, but is considered perfectly normal due to the nature of the materials.
 
7. Baby mattresses
  • Mattresses shall not be exposed to outdoor environmental conditions.
  • Ensure proper and sufficient ventilation of the mattress, inside the room, with an open window, leaving it uncovered (without bedding and protective cover) for a few hours, at least once a month.
  • Baby mattresses, due to the natural materials used for their construction, are sensitive to high temperatures and ambient humidity. Maintain ideal conditions inside the nursery.
  • Most of the baby mattresses can and should be rotated(left – right & head feetsee the picture above for the way the mattress rotates) to avoid strain on one side.
  • A soiled mattress is out of warranty. For this reason, a protective cover should be used. The same applies to a mattress with traces of mould.
  • Follow the instructions for use if you wish to wash the outer cover of the mattress.
  • If there is no instruction on which you can wash the outer fabric of the mattress, do not remove it. You can contact the department after sales servicefor information on possible ways of cleaning the mattress.
  • The dimensions of the mattress are the responsibility of the customer. ATTENTION: Be sure the mattress you choose has the ideal dimensions.
  • If you notice a smell from your new baby mattress in general, it is not a defect, but a natural osmosis due to the use of natural materials.
 
8. When does the GRECO STROM warranty start?

The warranty of your mattress starts from the date of purchase which is verified by the proof of purchase, for this reason it is always necessary to present the receipt or the invoice.

 
9. When is the GRECO STROM guarantee valid?

You just need to take care of your new mattress by following our instructions in order to ensure both the quality and the validity of the warranty:

  • Keep the proof of purchase
  • Keep the warranty card that comes with your mattress because the terms and conditions of use are written on it.
  • Buy your mattress from GRECO STROM network stores or from authorized partners who can guarantee the fidelity and authenticity of the product.
  • Do not subject your mattress to technical interventions or modifications without the company’s permission.
  • At GRECO STROM we manage the materials sector we use in one way: by insisting on quality and the impeccable management of the technology that will ensure it. For this reason, the technical specifications of our products can change without notice as we constantly evolve and upgrade our products. You should be aware that there is a possibility that some of the materials used in your mattress may no longer be available at the time you return your mattress for repair. You can be absolutely sure that GRECO STROM will take care of replacing it with a corresponding, upgraded, state-of-the-art and always of excellent durability and quality.
 
10. What is covered by the warranty and what is the after sales service procedure?

GRECO STROM ‘s warranty covers, in proportion to the years of use for each type of mattress, possible problems which may concern extremely rare construction or material failures which are confirmed after a technical inspection by the company and not after damages that may be caused by ordinary wear and tear due to use or misuse. If, after following all the instructions for the care and proper functioning of the mattress, you notice that there is a problem with your mattress, then first look for your proof of purchase and contact GRECO STROM‘s after sales service department , aftersales@grecostrom.gr. GRECO STROM will arrange to send a technician from our specialised department to check your mattress. If the problem can be captured photographically, you can send the photos together with a summary of the problem and your proof of purchase to the department’s e-mail address: aftersales@grecostrom.gr. In any case, if it is found that your mattress has a manufacturing defect, the company will undertake its complete restoration within 4 – 7 working days. This applies only to the Attica basin and Thessaloniki.

 
11. After sales service procedure outside Attica & Thessaloniki.

For customers located outside Attica and Thessaloniki, the procedure is differentiated as the visit of a technician is not foreseen. However, no problem remains suspended. The after sales department (aftersales@grecostrom.gr) will undertake to guide you in a correct and methodical way to solve your issue. If and when it becomes necessary to transport the mattress to the company’s premises, this should be done with care and diligence so that the mattress does not suffer any damage during transport, which is the responsibility of the customer and for which the company bears no responsibility. In detail:

  • 3 years warrantyTheATHENS STORMERY LTD “GRECO STROM” is obliged, for the first(1) year after its purchase, to repair or replace it with another of the same or similar type, without any financial participation from you. After the 1st year, charges will accrue based on the company’s repair price list. NOTE: This warranty is valid only upon presentation of a photocopy of the purchase invoice or retail sales receipt.
